Getting started in the right direction in curing OCD is not that hard.
You've just got to realize that to cure OCD, you first have to know that you have OCD. Then you've got to believe that it can be cured.
That is a little tougher for most people cause they have preconceived ideas about what OCD and most people think it's something that you have to struggle with for life, but nothing could be farther from the truth!
Then what you should do is do some research on OCD to find out good programs that will help "cure" OCD, not "treat" it.
So now that you know what you are looking for, you can begin.
The next part is you've got to realize that if your OCD is hindering you from going to work and other places that are necessary that you may want to consider talking with your doctor and a therapist so that you can get medicine to help with major forms of OCD,
The next part whether you have to take medication or not is to start to deal with it. You've got to face the fear that is driving the anxiety, which is causing OCD. There are things that you must understand about OCD. Here's one thing: It's an addiction.
Why it is is beyond the scope of this article, but that's how you approach it, and basically, you've just got to "quit" performing rituals, and you will be well on your way to becoming OCD free for good, period.
Take action: Go and do research about OCD, find out about it. Don't do too much unless you want that to be another form of OCD. Just like 15-20 minutes a day. The more information you have on getting over it, the easier it will be. Don't study about OCD itself as much as studying how to get over it!
