OCD Forum - Changing Your Diet to Decrease OCD

Do you eat junk food all the time and call it food?

I used to.

McDonalds (tm) is not food. Tv dinners are not food. Chips are not food.

Organic Vegetables, fruits, nuts, meats ARE food.

Why organic? Because chemicals in other "foods" affect the brain and impair the ability of your cells to perform to their optimum level. Since your mind is made of cells, don't you think that they will be able to handle stress better if they are able to function better? It's a no-brainer, seriously.

Food is fuel that is put into your body, your cells work together to create your body, the vehicle.

If you put crappy fuel in your body, you'll get crappy performance from your cells and this includes your brain.

On the other hand, if you feed your body premium fuel, i.e. organic food, you'll get optimum performance out of your cells and guess what. This includes your brain!

So here are some tips that you can put in your pocket...

Go to the store and buy organic fruits and vegetables and meats. I don't think it's necessary to become a vegetarian and I wouldn't recommend it myself. I do however feel that meat is only good to eat if it's organic and not pumped with chemicals and preservatives which impair the ability of your cells to perform to their optimum level.

Drink organic drinks, not sugared down juices or juices from concentrate. Only drink "not from concentrate" organic juices and only drink distilled water or natural water, don't buy water that says "drinking water" on it! That is water that has been treated to be made safe to drink, which means it probably wasn't before. Distilled water is filtered by a process that almost guarantees purity, but a lot of the natural minerals, if not all of them, are gone. Natural organic water is the best because it has the trace minerals that are good for the body.

Did you know that natural organic foods like vegetables and fruits have chemical compounds in them that are good for the body that scientists don't understand yet. All we know is this, This is the best food and the best fuel you can put in your body period. So why settle for anything less than the very best?

Take action: By quality organic food only and I guarantee you'll see a difference in how you feel and how you're able to handle the stress of not doing rituals. I bet this will cut your time in half as far as getting over OCD and I'm dead serious!

OCD Forum - Curing OCD For Good, Getting in the Right Direction

Getting started in the right direction in curing OCD is not that hard.

You've just got to realize that to cure OCD, you first have to know that you have OCD. Then you've got to believe that it can be cured.

That is a little tougher for most people cause they have preconceived ideas about what OCD and most people think it's something that you have to struggle with for life, but nothing could be farther from the truth!

Then what you should do is do some research on OCD to find out good programs that will help "cure" OCD, not "treat" it.

So now that you know what you are looking for, you can begin.

The next part is you've got to realize that if your OCD is hindering you from going to work and other places that are necessary that you may want to consider talking with your doctor and a therapist so that you can get medicine to help with major forms of OCD,

The next part whether you have to take medication or not is to start to deal with it. You've got to face the fear that is driving the anxiety, which is causing OCD. There are things that you must understand about OCD. Here's one thing: It's an addiction.

Why it is is beyond the scope of this article, but that's how you approach it, and basically, you've just got to "quit" performing rituals, and you will be well on your way to becoming OCD free for good, period.

Take action: Go and do research about OCD, find out about it. Don't do too much unless you want that to be another form of OCD. Just like 15-20 minutes a day. The more information you have on getting over it, the easier it will be. Don't study about OCD itself as much as studying how to get over it!

OCD Info - The Information Anyone With OCD Should Have!

What I would recommend that anyone that has OCD first to do is to go to the bookstore and find books on obsessive compulsive disorder. It's a little more complicated than this! Then what you do is sit down and go through the index of chapters and see what each chapter is about.

Take notes on these headlines as more often than not, you can get the gist of the book by just reading the chapter descriptions and names. This can be a huge time saver! This will also help you decide which book is the one that you want to buy and the one that is most beneficial to your specific variety of OCD.

You must also realize that your OCD will morph, so your OCD info must be relevant to what you are going through but be able to help you stop it from morphing into other kinds. If you find that you are reading a book and doing what it says and you are not getting good results, you should get a different book, it's really that simple.

That being said, you must also give the book that you have chosen a fair chance. You can't just read for one hour and decide that it doesn't work. You must do what it has outlined and if it's a good book it will show you how to do what it's teaching. If not, you may have made a bad choice, it's ok, it happens.

What I would do before I even buy the book is to go online and look it up and see what others have said about the book and you will develop a gut feeling about the book. If you have a bad gut feeling about the OCD book then how can you expect to get any value from it when your mind is closed off to what it says?

You must have a good feeling about the book that you are going to buy that claims that it's going to help you with your obsessive compulsive disorder. If you have a good feeling about it and really think it's going to help you then you have a much better chance of getting results from it!

The next piece of OCD info that should have at your disposal is the fact that counselors are always not the best answer and here are a couple reasons why. They keep reminding you of your OCD and this will keep it fresh in your mind. One of the best ways in eradicating OCD is to train your mind to not think about it as much.

The second thing that I have seen is that sometimes people spend years with a therapist with little to no results. This is awful! If you don't have measurable results within the first month, find a new therapist or go online and find a book or program that may be able to help you better. Once you do these things that I have mentioned above, you'll have a leg up on most other people that are trying to get help with their OCD.

Obsessive Compulsive Anxiety Disorder - How to Control Your Own Mind to Beat OCD

Obsessive compulsive anxiety disorder will take over your life if you let it, however this doesn't have to be you, you can put a stop to it for good but you'll need further information. One of the problems with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and anxiety is that they are counter intuitive. What this simply means is that the things that you can think or do that you would think would work to stop the OCD actually make it worse. The reason why you are reading this article right now is because you have tried many things and they have not worked for you. You don't need the next miracle pill or the latest shock treatment, no; instead you need some new mental technologies. What I'm talking about is not technologies that are tangible that you can hold. No, instead technologies that is psychological in nature. After all, the universe is between your ears. You need to be woken up from the social conditioning that has us all running around like zombies where we believe everything we see on TV and will take whatever our doctors tell us like Gospel truth!

Instead of just treating your obsessive compulsive anxiety disorder, why not look for the cure for it? Would you take a treatment for the flu if in the next room they had the cure? The problem is that most people who suffer from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder are very smart people and this frustrates them even further because they feel that they should be able to figure this thing out. However, it is not like a Rubix cube or a puzzle of some kind, it requires a new way of thinking and looking at things and anyone can get this new view or paradigm shift. What I mean by this is that by simply observing something in a different way, we actually change our perception of it in our minds and in all intensive purposes, if our perception of it is changed, then we change the actual thing we are observing simply by observing it! We have more power than you could ever imagine, and I'm not talking about walking on water and flying and things of that nature, but the power to control how we feel and how we experience the world around us. We no longer need to be a spectator in our lives; we can actually be an active participant!

The only problem is that in this world where we want everything instantly and we have been socially conditioned to not have patience, we miss out on the necessary insights into our own minds and therefore have no clue how to drive the car we are in so to speak! I was using car as a metaphor for our brains. We actually spend more time and care on taking care of our cars then we do our own bodies and brains! I would think it wise if you want to stop obsessive compulsive anxiety disorder in your life you need to understand more about how your thinking really works and how your brain really works. I'll be one hundred percent honest with you, you don't even need to know how any of it works actually, if you are presented with the right actions at the right time and the correct instructions on how to do these actions, you will get rid of your OCD while never having learned how it actually works! You don't need to know how electricity works to turn off a light bulb, do you? Enjoy the cutting edge OCD information I have for you below!

Compulsive Obsessive Behavior - How to End OCD For Good!

Compulsive obsessive behavior causes a lot of heartache in millions of sufferers all around the world and I can tell you from experience that it is not as easy! You gotta understand that Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a habit that can be stopped just like you can stop biting your nails or pulling your hair, etc. Forget all the fancy names that the "professionals" give these habits, when you get down to it, this is just what they are, habits! So you can either be ignorant and shake your head and say, nope, you can't cure OCD and be stuck with it for the rest of your life because of that belief or you can open your mind to the possibility that it can be cured and that there are people out there like me who have had it and real bad for several years and have beaten it!

I want you to understand that you need to realize that it is a problem that you don't have to live with for the rest of your life in order for me to be able to help you! Compulsive obsessive behavior is not a disease. If you can grasp this concept continue reading, if not, go read some propaganda written by a therapist who wants you to continue coming back to their office so that they can continue to charge your insurance ridiculous fees to talk about your childhood! Wake up! Stop being under the trance of social conditioning and think for yourself! I like people that think for themselves and challenge the status quo, these are the people that actually get things done!

Look at people like Bill Gates. He challenged the status quo and did not even finish college and he is the richest man in the world most of the time! Think about this, we have been told all our lives that in order to be successful you gotta get a degree from a college and then you can be somebody, but all the people that I know that are rich did not finish high school! I know of several marketers right now that make over 100 million a year and they never even went to college! Then the people that I know that finished college, make less than I do and I only went for two years! So challenge the status quo.

Again, I was told by a doctor that I would have OCD for the rest of my life and that I had to take Citalopram for the rest of my life to treat it! I refused to believe this and I searched for people who had OCD and got rid of it! I knew it was possible to beat compulsive obsessive behavior and guess what? I did! It really only boils down to what you believe you can do. I also used to suffer from migraines. When my neurologist told me that I would have to take migraine medications for the rest of my life, I refused to accept it! I went to a chiropractor and learned about ergonomics when I slept, now I have not had a migraine in years! So much for my smarty pants neurologist! Don't blindly take the word of "experts" however, think for yourself and you can do things that will appear as a miracle to the "sheep" or general population in this world.

Compulsive Disorder Obsessive - True Story of the OCD Cure

Compulsive disorder obsessive thoughts can really ruin your life. Every once in a while you hear about those people who they had OCD and for whatever reason it just went away. These are not true stories of people who had it and beat it. The true stories are when those people who had Obsessive Compulsive Disorder had it and then they get rid of it by their efforts, not wait until it just goes away. When the hard times come back in life, the people who had to put effort into getting rid of their OCD will not have to worry about a relapse while those who just had it go away are doomed to have a relapse.

The whole point of getting rid of compulsive disorder obsessive is to make sure it's gone for good, wouldn't you say? I would hope that this is your mindset. I am of the mindset that you should want to take the actions that you have to take so that you never have to face this problem again and even if you face it again you will be so equipped to handle it that there is virtually no way for it to return. I'm talking about resilience to OCD, I'm talking about a mental vaccine if you will. When you take a vaccine, when the disease tries to get you again, the chances of it making you sick are slim to none!

So what can you do to get this mental vaccine? You need to understand that compulsive disorder obsessive is not a disease, it is a habit. This habit can be cruel just like any other habit, such as pulling your hair or biting your nails so excessively that you bleed! You need to give yourself sufficient reasons why not only that you need to quit, but you have to perceive it as though you have to quit! Several shifts have to take place in your brain for you to be even able to get to the point where you can get rid of your Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

Another thing that you should definitely know about compulsive disorder obsessive is that the "quick fix" is not as effective as the dedicated following of a system at least at this time. Later on in the future we will be more equipped to almost instantaneously be able to stop habits with little to no resistance in seconds. However the problem in stopping an aggressive habit is not in the changes taking place in the client's brain, the work is in getting the client to let go of their old beliefs which block the necessary changes. You quit habits in an instant, it's just getting the client to let go of their old limiting beliefs that is so frightening for the client and challenging for the practitioner.

Sadly most practitioners give up on people with compulsive disorder obsessive tendencies and issues because they do not fully understand enough about the habit in order to offer any real help. If you are seeing someone who claims to be able to help you with this and you have sen them for over 2 months with no results, and very important, you have been doing what they said, you need to find someone else. You must make sure that the statement I said above is only true if you followed their program to the letter!
