Compulsive Disorder - The Details

Compulsive Disorder, this would be when you feel compelled to do things even when they don't make sense. It's in the same vein as OCD where you feel completely driven to do things, oftentimes you feel that if you don't do these things that something bad will happen or that you will go insane. Normal people often feel compelled to do things in their lives but this is that sort of drive taken to an extreme level. Normal people are driven by specific things with an understanding in their minds as to why they are driven most of the time.

For a person who suffers from a compulsive disorder, their brain compels them to act for reasons which they do not understand and that naturally makes it difficult for the person enduring this to understand the condition or to understand how to cure it. Many people wonder if they are losing their minds because they will do things and even hear things, voices in their head for instances, things that would not happen normally, if you do suffer from a compulsive disorder that scenario is not particularly uncommon so try not to jump to worse case scenarios, you likely are just dealing with one of the many OCD type symptoms.

People who deal with a compulsive disorder might feel compelled to act in strange ways, some examples of this would include: stepping around cracks in the ground, straightening out objects that appear to not be straight, keeping your area painstakingly clean, categorizing and organizing everything, to excess, pointing objects in particular directions, repeatedly looking at something to confirm in your mind that it is what you believe it to be, and other things as well. Another thing that people in this situation might deal with is hearing or saying things in your mind that you either wouldn't want to hear or wouldn't want to say.

People who hear these thoughts can encounter some rather disturbing ones depending on the case, some examples of this would be: being religious and thinking sacrilegious thoughts, thinking of hurtful things or statements toward people that you don't feel that way towards and wouldn't normally think that way towards, and others as well. Some might find themselves even imagining scenarios where they would do things that they wouldn't do towards people they wouldn't do them to, this can also happen in regard to generally unhealthy thought as well. Compulsive disorder has various effects on different people.

If you suffer from a compulsive disorder, you aren't alone, there is an incredibly large amount of people in the world that suffer from it and there are various methods that can be utilized to free yourself of it's grasp. The road to becoming free of OCD is generally a very long one and requires a lot of effort as well as patience, the rewards gained from sticking it out though rise way above the adversity if you imagine it. If you measure the difficulties of living with OCD your entire life against the adversity of fighting against it for an extended amount of time you will in all likelihood find it worth it to stand against it, especially if you are dealing with a particularly difficult form of disorder.
