OCD - This is a Must Read If You Suffer From Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

What kind of information do you need to get rid of your Obsessive Compulsive Disorder? What is it that you want in your life? What kind of quality of life are you looking for? How long do you want to suffer with OCD?

These are big questions that need to be answered. You need to know where you are going or how are you ever going to get there? You need to create direction in your life by deciding right now that you are going to make some positive changes in your life. You need to understand that there are things you can do right now to create that necessary change.

Now that you know that you can decide what it is that you are going to do, you have to just do it. You are able to and don't ever let anybody tell you differently. No matter what kind of credentials they wear. We let people who are perceived as professionals to tell us what to do and where to live and how to act and to tell us what we can and can't do.

Do you find that you are asking yourself, "What if this, what if that?" You gotta stop doing that. That is the first thing that you need to do. People with OCD are plagued by this 'what if' scenario in their heads. If you can let go of this mental gambit, you will be way ahead of the game.

Do you find that you are always over analyzing everything that you think, say and do? Do you think that you will ever be able to become OCD free if you keep doing this? Don't you know how much work it is to have OCD? Do you want to stop? You can!

I tell people that have OCD that they have to learn how to be mentally lazy when it comes to obsessions. You need to think, "this is just too much effort to analyze and I don't feel like doing it!" That is something that will also put you way ahead of the game. People in the professional fields will never tell you things like this because they simply don't know about it because they never had OCD.

So what are you going to do? Who are you going to believe? Someone who learned about OCD in a class or from a set of books written by others who didn't have OCD? You have to realize that the only way to get over OCD is to learn from people who have had OCD, know what it's like and who have beaten it. That is the only way, period.

So now you have a decision to make. You can go and frequent the OCD forums and join the pity party or you can go and do something about your OCD. Another thing that you should know is that once you stop associating with other people with OCD, you will start to get better and only then, period!
